The location of the campsite last night in Llanes was so lovely we had a walk on the beach this morning. The tide was going out and the sun just risen.
This was looking up at the campsite from the beach and yes one did have to be a mountain goat!!
We set off for Santander in the firm belief we were sailing from there on Tuesday morning but over a G and T this evening I decided to check the tickets and guess what we are sailing from Bilbao so plans tomorrow might have to change!!
We decided to cycle to the NW peninsular of Santander and firstly saw the lighthouse at Cabo Major which was built in 1839 and was the first oil powered electric lighthouse in Spain.
We then cycled along the promenade and saw this amazing sculpture of the Spanish painter Enrique Gran made by Jose Cobo.
We also passed what must have been an old velodrome which is now a sports centre and museum.
We also went to the Parc Magdalene where we saw the royal stables but unfortunately did not see the royal palace de Magdalene hidden in the trees.
We thought you might want to see the motorhome just so you believe that we haven’t been living it up in 5* hotels for the last four weeks!
In France ourselves and belatedly read your latest blog and realised that you were home. Have booked Crab and Lobster got Monday next so if memory serves me right we will be with you 6.30 and take you for dinner at 7.30
