After a five and a half hour flight we arrived at Explora Rapa Nui, our hiking hotel. After settling in we had a short hike to Rano Raraku to see some Moais – stone Polynesian statues which weigh between 60 and 120 tonnes and are nearly a 1000 years old.

Tomorrow we are off on a 19km hike around the North coast
I would stay there… great place to hide out in the navel of the world while society has decided that toilet paper is the key to survival!
