Well for about 20minutes the rain stopped and this was our early morning walk
We started off early and thought we were getting on so well until we got up to the top of one of the passes through the Swiss Alps into Italy and were turned back because of an avalanche. This was before we got to the avalanche
Arrived at Lake Como having had to return to where we started and guess what George Clooney did not do the meet and great bit!!
Fab place with lovely views. Went to Villa del Balbianello which has been around since the13th century, in part. Walked around the beautiful gardens and then had a guided tour of the house.
It is used in lot of films and was the location in Casino Royale as a clinic where Bond was recuperating after a savage beating with a girl of course looking after him.
You’re not missing anything here in Hampshire/Surrey. Weather cold wet and miserable! Summer, what summer? I was surprised that they were still having avalanches in the Italian Alps in June. Go South !

Lovely to see Villa Balbianello in the sunshine!
When we were there a few years ago it was very cold, very wet and very windy!
Such a lovely country though.
