Day 4 Baden-Baden

Hired a car this morning and drove to Baden Baden. What a beautiful town with beautiful buildings, fabulous parks and abundance of history. The town is known for its spas and their curative properties but we just saw lovely buildings and streets and some great parks to walk in ( one is 2 km long).

We took loads of pics but have tried to give you a selection.

We also had a lovely walk in Lichtentaler Allee – a park with a beautiful stream, little bridges to houses and wide open spaces. We walked along the stream for 25 mins therefore probably 2+ km.

We also went up their funicular railway said to be the longest in Europe ! With great views over the valley and B-B.

As part of our fun packed day we drove up to Hohenbaden Castle for yet more views of the town.

We then spent a couple of hours driving back through the never ending Black Forest back to Freiburg

  1. Spring sunshine in a beautiful part of Germany. Been pouring with heavy rain here!! Enjoy the trip! B&E xx

  2. Looks beautiful, and so peaceful. All very civilised and off the beaten track.
