We were somewhat surprised that the references to a historic town did not live up to expectations.
Perpignan was the historical capital of the Kingdom of Majorca in the 13th century as seen by the royal palace in the south of the town but which was closed.
There were a few buildings of interest such as the Castelet
A feature of the town was a canal running north south
There were a number of churches including yet another Notre Dame which we feel has already been well covered in other towns in this blog.
All in all a disappointment although tough to live up to Avignon and Antibes
