Day 16 Iseo to Innsbrück Austria

We can’t believe that we are half way through our trip, still married and talking to each other and have not had one night in a hotel ……yet!

We had a four and a half hour journey with a number of traffic jams and accidents but the scenery and especially the Dolomites coming out of Italy and the Tyrol as we came through Austria were amazing.

We had a few hours walking around Innsbrück after a 30 minute bike ride from the campsite along the river. We spent most of our time in the Old Town of Innsbrück with its beautiful buildings, markets and narrow streets.

We then went to St James cathedral whose exterior is undergoing some renovation but managed to get some pictures of the inside. The cathedral dates back to 1180 but the current building was built in the 18th century Baroque style as you can see below.

More pictures from Innsbrück tomorrow including a ride in a cable car.
